Mark Steyn is the author of a new book, America Alone. He was recently interviewed on Fox News by Hannity and Colmes. He provides chilling insight into China and "their crazy pal" (North Korea) and suggests that Europe is no longer a feasible ally for the United States.

Hot Air has a video of the short interview. Michelle Malkin points to a Reuters article indicating the North Koreans may be contemplating another test, soon, here.

'In Seoul, a South Korean government official told Reuters on Tuesday: "The government is aware of signs related to North Korea's possible second nuclear test. We cannot exclude the possibility of a second test." But he added there was no firm information on a possible new test. U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, on the eve of a trip to the region to try to stiffen the resolve behind U.N. sanctions on North Korea, said she hoped Pyongyang would not conduct a second nuclear test.'

The Fox interview turned to an assessment of America's potential allies in a battle against the "re-primitivisation" of the world. Steyn mentioned Australia as a staunch friend of the United States. When asked about Europe, he responded, "forget Europe," they're doomed. When asked to explain, he pointed to Islam. Time and the thrust of the interview forbid him, I'm sure, from explaining what we all (western man) seem to know but are able to do nothing about because of sloth, distraction, paralyzing fear and or a convoluted moral sense (aka political correctness); Europe and to a lesser extent (for now) the US are financing their own cultural restructuring (through illegal immigration, mindless political inclusion, and obscene social programs) into nations which will inevitably come to despise their own cultural origins. It's also often called The Suicide of the West

"From the evidence of one opinion poll this week, the British public has at least woken up to the fact that we are in the throes of a world war. Not so, however, the British establishment and chattering classes. Denial is no longer a river in Egypt but a British pathology."
