Isn't it refreshing to behold a rogue nation willing to simply step up and threaten? So often these days those who hate us and wish to kill us pretend to other ambitions. Not so with those proudly evil bastards in North Korea. They've got the bomb and want the world to know!

Michell Malkin comments upon the successful North Korean nuclear test, here. Hot Air has a video of President Bush's response to North Korea's chutzpah, here. (How nice to hear our president say, "The United States remains committed to diplomacy." Everybody benefits from commitment.)

For a bit of black humor regarding the situation, see here BUT ONLY IF YOU CAN TOLERATE ADULT LANGUAGE. More pedestrian treatment, here.

In today's news we also find that some polls show that voting age women are backing off the Republican Party because of, among many reasons, our moribund economy (????) and "how things have gone in Iraq." These are the same people, I'm afraid, who would watch the above-linked R-rated video and fail to see the humor of Puppet Blix's threat to send a letter on behalf of the UN to North Korea stating exactly how upset the UN is.  What's so funny? Why won't that work?

ps: For the inspiration for the title of this entry, check out the last two lines of the poem reproduced here.
