The Scourge of Prejudice

A few things go wrong and before you know it, the unenlightened want to generalize. Take terror, for example. You, assuming you are an infidel, may have unscientifically observed that..

A. Many of the worldwide terror events of note have been executed by Young Muslim Males.

B. These Young Muslim Males often refer to a publication which inspires them to violence.

(Many say we are quoting the violent passages in the Qu'ran without context. For example. But these guys, at least, seem to be reading the text in the same way as many context-ignorant infidels. See also this, containing: "The extremist religion offers many a theological justification and mandate to kill those they deem to be infidels. One should note that according to Wahhabism, the vast majority of Muslims (over 99%) are also to be considered “infidels, heathens, and enemies.” Still, David Warren, for one, seems to believe the violent tack threatens to become the most appealing in the Qur'an reading world.)

Refuting point A.  Everyone knows that the August 2006 foiled terror attack included at least one Young Muslim Female. And her child. Point B, many Young Muslim Males fly the friendly skys every day without blowing up their aircraft. (These are often called dry runs.)

It seems those doing shoddy science have in at least one  case refused to board an aircraft with Young Muslim Males for fear that rascals may, for example, blow it up. Read about a particularly galling overreaction here, and its shaky defense.

This insanity must stop. We are no more likely to be killed en route in an airliner passengered with Young Muslim Males than a West Virginia coal minor is likely to be caught in a cave-in. We still mine coal don't we? Isn't getting along much more important than, well, just plain being rude?
